Mathway, is a new web based service that not only help you to solve mathematical problems but also shows how these problems are solved in a step by step manner. Mathway is very useful for school students. Mathway solve problems of Basic math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Linear Algebra, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus and Calculus.
Head on over to Mathway and all you have to do is enter the equation on the “Problem Editor” and you can kiss your math problem goodbye.
You can use the Problem Editor’s pre-made formula format and symbols so you can easily type in your math problem. You can also create a graph from your equations or functions using Mathway. The tool also lets you create an image “Math Format” like the ones seen on textbooks. Just click the show math format button and it will reveal the problem in Math Format.
Applications for Education:
What I like about Mathway is not its problem solving skills but the fact that it provides step-by-step work with explanations. It doesn’t just solve a math problem, it also teaches the user how the solution was derived. This is is a great place for students to get math help when they cannot meet with a teacher or tutor.
Mathway is also a resource that teachers may want to suggest to parents who are looking for a math refresher in order to help their children with math homework. If I was a math teacher (thankfully, I’m not) I would seriously consider adding a link to Mathway on my class blog.
