Can’t Windows 11 Open HEIC Files Already?

Windows 11’s Photos app can display HEIC images only after you install Microsoft’s free HEIF Image Extensions, and many HEIC files also need the HEVC Video Extensions, which cost $0.99 in the Microsoft Store.
