What is Vovsoft Batch Image Resizer?

Phone cameras now shoot 12, 48 or even 200 megapixels. That’s great for prints, but painful when a website, email or form wants a 1,200-pixel image under a few hundred KB. Resizing photos one by one in Paint or Photoshop gets old fast, and online resizers mean uploading personal pictures to someone else’s server.

Vovsoft Batch Image Resizer is a lightweight Windows image resizer that handles the whole pile in one go. You add images by drag and drop or by browsing, choose the output resolution, pick a resize method, and the program processes every file locally. It can also convert between formats while it resizes, and it keeps the transparency in PNG, GIF and other formats that support it.

This week, as part of the regular Vovsoft giveaway, you can unlock the full version free with an official licence key.

What’s new in version 2.4 (and recent updates)

If you grabbed an older copy from one of our earlier posts, the app has moved on quite a bit. According to Vovsoft’s version history:

  • v2.4 (August 11, 2026): new Width and Height columns in the file list, plus a fix for a high-DPI display issue in the results window.
  • v2.3 (March 2025): a new Automatic mode that keeps the original image orientation and picks the best interpolation algorithm for you.
  • v2.2 and v2.1 (late 2024): an improved Results window, Delete and Ctrl+A shortcuts in the list, and a fix for the Clear menu item.
  • v2.0 (May 2024): language-file support and a refreshed interface. The product page now lists 31 interface languages.
  • Earlier 1.x additions still worth knowing: WebP support, an option to add the width and height to output filenames, resizing to several sizes at once, and a SendTo shortcut added by the installer.

Key features at a glance

  • True batch processing. Resize dozens or hundreds of images in a single run instead of opening each one.
  • Several sizes from one source. Create, for example, 512×512, 256×256 and 128×128 versions of the same image in one pass — handy for icons, thumbnails and app assets.
  • Keep aspect ratio. Set a target width or height and let the app scale the other side so photos don’t look stretched.
  • Five resize methods. Nearest Neighbor, Linear, Cubic, Fant or Automatic.
  • Resize and convert together. Works with JPEG, PNG, WebP, BMP, GIF, TIFF, WMP and DDS, and preserves transparency.
  • Right-click friendly. The installer adds the app to Windows’ Send To menu, so you can send selected images straight to it from File Explorer.
  • 100% offline. Images are processed on your PC and never uploaded.
  • Installer or portable. Use the setup file (about 16 MB) or the portable ZIP (about 20 MB) for a USB stick.

Which resize mode should you pick?

The resize method decides how new pixels are calculated. A rough guide:

ModeBest for
AutomaticMost people. The app chooses the algorithm and keeps the original orientation.
FantHigh-quality shrinking of photos, e.g. camera shots for the web.
CubicSmooth, sharp results for photos, including mild enlargements.
LinearFast jobs where good-enough quality is fine.
Nearest NeighborPixel art, icons and screenshots where you want hard, unblurred edges.

💡 Tip: Resizing doesn’t touch your originals as long as you send the output to a different folder. Run a small test batch first, check the results, then process the full set.

⚠️ Important: Vovsoft’s terms say the giveaway has no free updates, and updating may unregister it. If the app offers a newer version later, skip it. Keep a copy of the installer and the key somewhere safe so you can reinstall v2.4 on the same PC later.

Who should grab it (and who can skip it)

👍 Worth it if you regularly shrink photos for a blog, online store, email or job and exam application forms; make thumbnails or icon sets in several sizes; or simply want to free up disk space from huge phone pictures without uploading them anywhere.

👎 Skip it if you need cropping, filters, watermarks or AI upscaling — this tool only resizes and converts. For broader batch editing, see our Ashampoo Photo Optimizer 10 giveaway, and if you mainly need to change formats, the Vovsoft Batch Image Converter free licence is a natural companion.

📊 Techno360 Verdict: a simple, private bulk resizer

Batch Image Resizer does one job and keeps it simple: load a folder, choose a size, and get every image resized on your own PC. The multi-size output, WebP support and the new Automatic mode make it more useful than the basic resizers built into Windows, and the portable version is handy to carry on a USB stick.

  • Good: genuine batch processing, 8 formats with transparency, multiple sizes in one pass, offline, light on resources, lifetime giveaway licence.
  • Not so good: no free upgrades on the giveaway copy, no editing tools beyond resize and convert, Windows only.

Bottom line: If you ever resize more than a handful of photos at a time, claim the free licence before October 11, 2026. It costs nothing and saves real time.
